Maths!

Today it took, hard work and a lot of effort to work on our Shapes. Who Knew it would be hard.
My understanding of the shapes were that it was hard to move around and work around. Even when the shapes were different it still took a bit of hard work.

Book Review

Title: Dead Dan Dee  Author: Phyllis Johnston

What was the book about?
Its is based about after the war, its talks about Dees Life. She lives in Hamilton near a beach, with her Mum and Aunty. Melva and Hilda, both of them are very ill. They go to the sanatorium down at Wellington but they leave Dee without telling her. She lives in a horrible place called The Refuge where orphanage, it was a small and quiet place where their were trained to become a Maid. She would read the letters that were sent from her Melva and Hilda, she was still angry at them for letting them to take her away, sadly her Mother Melva pass away, she didn’t get a chance to say goodbye. Dee believes that their are hope that she could get out of this prison and their ways. Joe a army mate who was friends with her father Dan, he forgot his promise to him. He was here to take her away from that place.
Dee seems to be happy again, she gets to live in a farm with Joe and Essie his wife but they can’t afford High School and soon Dee is getting to know the secret about her fathers that she doesn't know about.  


What did you like about the book?
Its so emotional. In the story its talks about Hope and how strong she really was, facing the fact that her mother was gone and no longing there. She talks about how longed she wanted to learn, to go High School and to go Uni. But she is also discover about what she didn't know about her Father Dan.   


What was your favourite part of the book?
She is Free from that Prison, the Refuge. Free from Bessie and Matron, it was goodbye forever. She was staring a Fresh Bright new Start
